LEE — For the last decade or so, the Lee and Lenox volleyball programs have been the class of south county. Monday night, the Wildcats and Millionaires renewed their rivalry on the court with a very familiar result.
The Wildcats outdueled the Millionaires in three sets winning 25-18, 25-10 and 25-18 to run their record to 3-1 on the season, handing Lenox its first loss of the young campaign.
Lizzy Brown finished the night with seven aces, nine kills and 10 digs to lead the Wildcats, while Lenox’s Kayanna Black hit two aces and 10 kills to lead her team in both categories.
In the early goings, the match appeared as though it was heading toward a five-set slugfest, as Lee and Lenox traded runs before the Wildcats scored six of the last seven points to pull away from a two-point game to a seven-point set victory.
