Whitney-Nason beats Spartans at buzzer

With under 30 seconds remaining in Monday night’s game against Monument Mountain, the Lee boys’ basketball team called timeout. Tied at 54 with a chance at the final shot in regulation, coach Jason Bliss decided to ride what had been working: the duo of Ben Harding and Myles Whitney-Nason.
After dribbling with the ball outside the 3-point arc, Whitney-Nason moved off a pick from Harding to his left and floated a shot over Dylan Brownson to give the Wildcats a 55-53 victory over the Spartans.
Early on, however, it didn’t look as though Lee would be in any position for a victory, buzzer-beating or otherwise.
