U.S. Rep. Richard Neal talks Berkshire County economy woes

It’s a tale of two regions, if you will.

The Boston Globe, in one of its latest headlines, describes it as “Tourism booms but locals struggle.”

The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, a public charity in Sheffield, calls it “mixed news” in regards to jobs and unemployment.

The second part of the Globe’s headline makes it even clearer: “Behind the two worlds of the Berkshires.”

What we’re talking about here are the economic concerns in Berkshire County.

And although it has been talked about – in varying capacities and weights – before, U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, D-Springfield, addressed the issue head on at his Sept. 15 town hall event.
