Tri-Town Health Board sets its sights on flavored tobacco

LEE — While teen smoking is down to an all-time low, young people are still getting addicted to nicotine at an alarming rate.

The culprit behind that rate of addiction appears to be flavored tobacco products, such as e-cigarettes, which appear to be most common, and to a lesser degree, chewing tobacco and other smokeless forms of tobacco.

“We have really good comprehensive tobacco regs, but in the tri-town district there is still a significant amount of flavored tobacco products that are available in stores,” James Wilusz said, director of the Tri-Town Health Board.
