STOCKBRIDGE — Select Board member Terry Flynn will be heading a group that will be looking at alternative solutions to the traffic study conducted by Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. (VHB) last year.
Select Board Chairman Don Chabon made a motion to appoint a citizens’ group “to coordinate, develop, and present alternatives,” with Flynn leading the group. Chabon noted that the town had heard a good deal of alternative ideas during the select board’s Jan. 7 meeting, as well as afterwards.
“We’d like to get these other ideas in a coordinated cohesive form,” Chabon said.
The group will also be reviewing the main street safety improvement section of the traffic plan submitted by VHB as well. That section is not guaranteed to be funded by the state, as the state will not undertake plans designating angled parking due to safety concerns. That portion may still be able to be funded by grants the board reported in previous meetings.
