SHEFFIELD — Southern Berkshire School District Superintendent Beth Regulbuto will lead the district for three more years after the Southern Berkshire School Committee voted unanimously to extend her contract during the board’s meeting.
Regulbuto’s original three-year deal was set to expire at the end of the school year, and the district was required to let Regulbuto know by the end of 2019 if it was interested in entering into negotiations to renew her contract.
The district went through a turbulent period last year that saw district employee Kurt DeGrenier file suit against the superintendent and the school committee on Oct. 1 for allegedly retaliating against him by demoting him after he raised concerns that the district was not providing Individualized Educational Programs to its students.
In November, a pair of district parents also received complaints that the school committee had violated open meeting law by improperly entering an executive session at an Oct. 24 meeting.
