Southern Berkshire County has more than 80 confirmed cases of coronavirus

GREAT BARRINGTON — The state Department of Public Health has issued the numbers of confirmed cases of coronavirus in each municipality in the commonwealth from Jan. 1 to April 14.
The state agency indicated that the list includes only reported cases and the absence of reported cases in a particular community does not indicate the absence of the virus that causes COVID-19. No community should decrease prevention and mitigation strategies based on these data. As of Wednesday, April 15, there were 29,918 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the commonwealth and 370 in Berkshire County.
The following is the numbers of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Southern Berkshire County:

Egremont <5 cases, * rate
Great Barrington 30 cases, 441.45 rate
Lee 10 cases, 170.07 rate
Lenox 10 cases, 204.98 rate
Monterey 0 cases, 0 rate
Mount Washington 0 cases, 0 rate
New Marlborough <5 cases, * rate
Otis <5 cases, * rate
Richmond 5 cases, 376.53 rate
Sandisfield <5 cases, * rate
Sheffield 9 cases, 291.54 rate
Stockbridge 6 cases, 344.13 rate
Tyringham <5 cases, * rate
West Stockbridge <5 cases, * rate

*Rate = the number of cases per 100,000 people. This number provides a standardized way to compare the burden of disease in cities and towns regardless of the size of their population.

Data are current as of April 14; For populations <50,000, <5 cases are reported as such or suppressed for confidentiality purposes.
