Simon’s Rock employee tests positive for coronavirus

GREAT BARRINGTON — A Bard College at Simon’s Rock employee has tested positive for the coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The college issued a statement on Monday, March 23 that this is the first confirmed case at the institution.
“In line with guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the employee has been self-isolating at home for two weeks and reports they are feeling much better,” the statement reads.
Berkshire Public Health authorities, in coordination with the college, will be reaching out directly to anyone who may have been in close contact with the employee, according to the statement. Those individuals may be asked to self-isolate and maintain contact with health department officials.
