SHEFFIELD—Beth Regulbuto, superintendent of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District, released a statement on Tuesday, Nov. 13, explaining that inappropriate posts on social media had been made by students from the district.
“These posts were promptly investigated by the School Resource Officer and Mt. Everett Administrators. It was determined that no criminal activity was found; however, there were violations of school policies identified, which will be dealt with by Administrators through the disciplinary process,” Regulbuto wrote.
She went on to say that the posts contained no offensive remarks towards any race, gender, or group of people.
“It really was internal humor that violated our handbook,” Regulbuto said. “It was satire gone wrong.”
