SHEFFIELD — A school committee meeting scheduled for Thursday night could be met with pickets who are calling for the superintendent’s removal from the school district.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16, a meeting for the Executive Evaluation Subcommittee was slated to include discussion about a possible contract renewal for Beth Regulbuto as the superintendent of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District (SBRSD).
Instead, the subcommittee meeting was abruptly cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. The updated agenda for the subcommittee does not include the previous agenda item for the discussion of a contract renewal.
The Executive Evaluation Subcommittee has historically been tasked with sending their recommendation of a possible contract renewal forward to the school committee for a formal vote.
The call for Regulbuto’s dismissal has been fueled by a recent lawsuit filed against the district by a parent and longtime employee of the district.
