GREAT BARRINGTON — An organic outdoor cannabis cultivation facility is proposed for the land adjacent to the solar farm on Van Deusenville Road.

If greenlighted, it will be the third outdoor cultivation operation in Berkshire County.

The Tier 10 outdoor cultivation facility would be located on 5.78 acres and would operate seasonally.

In addition to cultivation, the business hopes to manufacture cannabis waxes and essential oils on the premises.

The community outreach meeting held Tuesday by Fulcrum Enterprises LLC, a Massachusetts-based company, is the first step in an extensive permitting and site review process with the town and the state Cannabis Control Commission (CCC), said the principals’ lawyer, Kate McCormick.

If the development is approved, the growers expect to reap their first harvest the fall of 2020.
