New Lenox visitors center focuses on more than just tourism

LENOX – The town has officially unveiled the new visitors center, one that hopes to attract tourists and future residents alike.

The building, located at 4 Housatonic St. and designed by Winstanley Partners, features a full-glass front and a bright green and white color scheme with hints of warm wood tones.

Inside, works of art from sculptor Andrew DeVries dot the edges of the single large room. Moody black and white photographs of Shakespeare and Company accompany a Scott Barrow Tanglewood photograph that splashes the left wall. Above the entrance hangs a large, intimate portrait.
