New grants to Jacob’s Pillow spell increased outreach, ease of expansion

BECKET – Jacob’s Pillow has secured two grants that aid in the furtherance of the internationally acclaimed dance site’s future.

The first: a $225,000 cultural grant that will be utilized for the construction of a new year-round dance space. The second: a $10,000 grant to support Jacob’s Pillow pop-up performances during Pittsfield’s Third Thursday celebrations.

The $225,000 comes from the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund, a statewide initiative. According to information provided by Nicole Tomasofsky, the Pillow’s public relations coordinator, the newly awarded grant defrays expenses related to the Perles Family Studio.
