Monterey residents get to tour $3 million library renovation

MONTEREY—The library in town is entering a new chapter on its more than $3 million renovation project. The process has been several years in the making and on Monday, townspeople were guided through the expanded building.
The library originally opened in 1891 and moved to 452 Main Road in 1931. The building was designed with the intention of half of the single-room library would serve as a “reading room” and the other half would be filled with book stacks, said Mark Makuc, director of the library.
On Monday, Makuc guided townspeople on a tour of the growing facility.
