 The Town of New Marlborough, acting through the Board of Selectmen, will accept sealed bids for resurfacing New Marlborough South Sandisfield Road (Route 183) and Norfolk Road to include shoulders and driveways (approximately 4,600 tons of MassDOT approved top). All materials and workmanship are to meet the latest MassDOT specifications. This contract contains a price adjustment provision for liquid asphalt mixtures. Price adjustments will be in accordance with MassDOT special provisions for price adjustments for Liquid Asphalt dated June 6, 2019. The base price for liquid asphalt on this contract is $547.50​/​ton and the base price for diesel as of June 2019 is $2.28 per gallon as posted on July 15, 2019. Bids packages will be available at the New Marlborough Town Hall starting Wednesday, July 17, 2019, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; by calling 413-229-8116; or by emailing a request to sfleck@newmarlboroughma.gov. Sealed bids will be accepted until 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at the New Marlborough Town Hall, 807 Mill River Southfield Road, PO Box 99, Mill River, MA 01244, at which time they will be opened and read aloud. Absolutely no bids will be accepted after that time. Envelopes shall be clearly labeled “RESURFACING VARIOUS ROADS BID”. The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main St. to act on a Request for Determination of Applicability from SK Design Group on behalf of Hillcrest Educational Centers, property at 5 Ramsdell Road, Map 28 Lots 35-39. The proposed work includes re-paving various sections of the existing driveways and parking areas originally permitted within a Buffer Zone and the outer reach of a Riverfront Resource Area. This public meeting will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Ch.131, Sec. 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw, Ch.168.

The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main St., to act on a Request for Determination of Applicability from Andrew Berens, property at 1079 Main Street North, Housatonic; Map 3 Lot 1-19A and 1-19. Proposed work includes construction of a pool and patio, underground propane tanks, fire pit and small patio, landing and stairs exiting a carriage house, raising a shed 16” and adding a concrete floor and associated drainage work. This public meeting will be held in accordance with the Mass Wetlands Protection Act Regulations 310 CMR 10.00 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw & Regulations, Ch.168 & Ch.217 Art.III.

For Designer Services for ADA Renovation Project on Ramsdell Public Library

The Town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts (“Owner”) is seeking the services of a qualified “Designer” within the meaning of M.G.L. Chapter 7, Section 38A1/2, to provide professional design and construction administration services for the ADA Renovation Project on Ramsdell Public Library in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Selection of a Designer will be made by The Ramsdell Designer Selection Committee in accordance with the Town of Great Barrington’s Designer Selection Procedures.

            The Owner is seeking designer services to develop construction bid documents and cost estimates for renovating and making the first floor of the Ramsdell Public Library “Americans with Disabilities Act” (ADA) compliant with all Federal, State and Local codes and regulations for Handicap Accessibility. Associated work is expected to require property and topographic survey, soil testing, local permitting and site plan preparation. The target completion date is the Fall​/​Winter of 2019. The estimated construction budget for a potential future ADA renovation project is $300,000.

            The Town and the Designer may choose to amend the contract to include continued designer services through bidding, award of construction contract(s), construction administration, final closeout and warranty period of the potential project.

            Among other requirements contained in the RFQ, the Applicants shall be a registered Architect (AIA) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and have designed similar improvements to historic buildings in Massachusetts.

            Requests for the full RFQ package should be made to Sean VanDeusen at svandeusen@townofgb.org or picked up in the Department of Public Works at 334 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Thursday July 25. The Board of Selectmen will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 7 p.m. on the application of Canna Provisions, Inc. for approval of a Special Permit under Section 199-9.11 (Marijuana Establishments), Section 13.3 (Site Plan) and 13.4 (Special Permit) from the Town of Lee Zoning Bylaws. The proposal is for the construction of a marijuana cultivation and extraction facility, to be located at 160 Quarry Hill Road. The property affected is located in the OPLI (Office Park Light Industrial) Zoning District (Assessors’ Map 30, Lot 67-C).

            Any person interested or wishing to be heard should appear at the time and place designated. If unable to attend please submit comments in writing to the Lee Board of Selectman at 32 Main St., Lee. Failure to make recommendations on the matter for review shall be deemed lack of opposition thereto. A copy of the application is available for review in the Town Clerk’s Office.
