Lee Zoning Board of Appeals issues permit to Eagle Mill

Jeffrey Cohen presents to the Lee Zoning Board of Appeals.

LEE — The town’s decaying and forgotten Eagle Mill is one step closer to transformation.
At a Nov. 14 meeting, the Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a special permit request for Mill Renaissance to redevelop the old mill structure.
The project is led by Jeffrey Cohen, an Adams developer who seeks to transform the Eagle Mill into a marketplace and residential unit melange.
“This special permit is critical,” said Cohen, “[This] will change Lee. There will be so many jobs that they won’t know where to work.”
A large space for retailers will be available, as well.
On the evening of Nov. 19, the Lee Planning Board gathered and was informed that a possible cannabis retailer may be interested in moving into the eventual mill retail space.
“We want to be transparent and we want to hear everything and hear from everyone,” said Peggy Biron, chair of the town’s Planning Board during the meeting.
