GREAT BARRINGTON — In the span of two weeks, the Housing Authority has gained two new members to form a full, five-person board.
By a roll call vote of 6-2-1, members of the Great Barrington Selectboard as well as members of the town’s Housing Authority appointed Cara Becker to the Housing Authority, filling a longtime vacant seat on the board.
Becker, who is also the executive administrative assistant to the Great Barrington Police Chief William Walsh Jr., will serve on the board until May 2020, when she will be required to run for re-election during the town election.
Jim Mercer, chairperson of the Great Barrington Housing Authority (GBHA), endorsed Becker to be the fifth member of the board before the vote was held.
