GREAT BARRINGTON — The selectboard has granted Grayhouse partners a six-month extension for the Housatonic School project in terms of gathering funding.
Grayhouse partners entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the town last year to investigate the project, a mixed use development, intended to provide business and community space and affordable housing, as well as the potential for some use by the town. Grayhouse Partners along with financial consultant Gillette Conner have been working diligently to find funding for the project, though that process has taken longer than either the town or Grayhouse Partners President William Nappo had initially anticipated.
The reason for that has largely been timing, according to Nappo, Gillette, and Town Manager Jennifer Tabakin.
Select Board Chairman Stephen Bannon expressed some frustration at the seeming lack of progress, asking to see something concrete.
