Eagle Mill developer has revised 7-year plan

LEE — A redevelopment, seven years in the making, has revised its plan.
Jeff Cohen, principal developer for the Eagle Mill project, and Sarah Gapinski of Pittsfield-based SK Design Group Inc. came before the Planning Board on Monday to provide an informal presentation of site plan modifications to the Eagle Mill development.
The plans had previously called for a hotel with 72 rooms to be located adjacent to the historic machine shop building on the north side of West Center Street of the mill complex, said Cohen to the board.
But the mill property could not properly accommodate the additional parking needed for guests of the hotel.
As a result, the extended-stay hotel was moved across from the mill complex toward the north end of Main Street.
The decision came after conferring with HVS, a consulting firm for the hospitality industry based in Westbury, New York.
