Daponde named asst. principal at Mount Everett High School

SHEFFIELD — Equipped with 10 years of active duty service in the U.S. Air Force, Doug Daponde has officially taken flight as the newest Eagle at Mount Everett Regional School.

With a background as a teacher for 13 years, Daponde joins the staff at Southern Berkshire Regional School District with nearly eight years in administration.

For the last three years, he served as the principal at Michael E. Smith Middle School in Hadley.
Daponde says he’s eager to return back to a high school setting which offers sports and extracurricular activities, with a middle school population mixed in as well.

“I knew after working there for a couple of years that I wanted to get back to a high school,” said Daponde. “Quality of life is important. Titles, to me, are not important.”
