Charges reduced or dropped for 14 Kinder Morgan protesters

GREAT BARRINGTON — Fourteen protestors from the Sugar Shack Alliance and water protectors had their day in court last week.

All but one charge has been dropped or reduced to civil infractions.

“Only one of the charges was not converted. There is one criminal count still outstanding at the moment, his court-appointed lawyer is negotiating with the prosecutor,” Vivienne Simon of the Sugar Shack Alliance said.

Protesters appeared at the Southern Berkshire District Court with Judge Paul Vrabel presiding over the cases in a packed courtroom. People were asked to wait outside.
