Carla Turner wants to keep Egremont seat in the family

EGREMONT — Carla Turner has been thinking about running for a seat on the select board for some time, but it never felt right to run against her brother-in-law, current board chairman Bruce Turner.

When Turner announced he wouldn’t seek reelection, Carla Turner knew that now was her moment.

“I want to be a little more helpful,” she said. “I’m interested in politics, but mostly I’m interested in Egremont.”

So far, Turner is currently the only select board candidate to have filed candidacy papers with the town. Two other people have taken out papers, but have yet to submit them to Town Hall.
