GREAT BARRINGTON— For the past three years, certified life coach Cheryl Hutto has been offering help to those who give so much of themselves to others.
As a counselor to caregivers, Hutto provides coaching across the country predominantly on the phone and on video calls, while also maintaining a private Facebook group of more than 500 members where she dispenses advice to caregivers.
But now the Glendale resident is set to host her first in-person program, as she will bring her “Back to Center” comprehensive self-care program for caregivers to Great Barrington.
The classes will be held on Wednesdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. each week starting on March 18 at the Grace Church meeting room on State Road.
Topics covered in the eight-week program will include instruction in sound vibrational healing, guided meditation and Qigong coordinated body movements.
“I think there’s a need right here to do something like this,” Hutto said. “I think that the feedback has been great. One of the things that makes this a little bit different from the usual support group that we think of is that this is really about the caregivers themselves. It’s about an approach to calming the nervous system.”
