SPRINGFIELD — The Lee girls’ tennis team pulled into Forest Park in Springfield Tuesday afternoon confident, but not cocky. Having lost just one rostered player from last year’s sectional championship team that cruised past South Hadley, the Wildcats had been there and done that, they just had to do it again.
They did just that, storming through the Tigers for the third consecutive postseason and second straight Western Massachusetts championship, claiming a 4-1 victory to hoist the trophy once again.
Driving east to Springfield gave Lee some déjà vu. In fact, practically the same exact lineup traveled to the same courts to play the same team from a season ago, with Paige Barry and Caroline Maloney swapping spots in doubles.
