GREAT BARRINGTON — The hard part is over.
The votes are in, the bylaws are written and Berkshire County’s first retail marijuana establishment has been open for business for more than a month.
Legal recreational marijuana is here to stay. Now it’s time to talk about how to best normalize it as a part of everyday life in the Berkshires, said Iona Smith, the community health coordinator for Railroad Street Youth Project.
“There is a unique opportunity for us to do this really well and to talk early and often with each other, as a community, with the goal of doing this the very best and most healthy way we can,” said Smith.
The South Berkshire Community Health Coalition, will host a discussion on marijuana from 7 to 9 p.m., March 13, at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center.
