STOCKBRIDGE — Woodworkers, much like the wood they craft, come in different shapes and sizes.
Some fashion furniture or practice pyrography, also known as wood burning. Others utilize cutting tools to create a more sculptural ornamentation of wood.
For Warren “Vinny” Vienneau, who owns and operates Pittsfield-based Turned Works, woodworking is likened to that of creating music. For nearly 40 years, Vienneau has crafted bowls, vases, lamps and decorative sculptures by hand through a process called woodturning.
“It’s been like learning to play and instrument. With my chisel, I create music,” he said.
