Task force: Public’s perception of us a ‘misconception’

The Berkshire County Education Task Force is suffering from an apparent public relations and identity crisis: the BCETF says, means and presents “A,” but the public hears and sees it as “B,” according to several task force members.

Task force member Carl Stewart, who is also chairman of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District School Committee, said lots of people have misconceptions about what the task force does – and has recommended.

“That’s not unique or uncommon,” Stewart said, during an Oct. 28 BCETF meeting, of task force disbelief.

Stewart said “believing” in the task force’s countywide school district aspiration is “largely confided to” the room the BCETF meets in every three weeks.

“Something gets lost,” he added.
