STOCKBRIDGE — In a 101-28 secret ballot, the last of the three-town Berkshire Hills Regional School District voted in support of the potential renaming of Monument Valley Regional Middle School to W.E.B. Du Bois Regional Middle School.

Voters here approved the petition article in an advisory, non-binding vote at their annual town meeting on Monday.

Great Barrington and West Stockbridge voters approved identical petition articles at their respective town meetings earlier this month.

The vote also marked the first time in at least six years that the Town of Stockbridge participated in a secret ballot measure in at least six years, said Town Clerk Terri Iemolini. West Stockbridge also opted for the secret ballot measure.
