—  A Sheffield
man has been found guilty of negligent homicide with a motor vehicle after
running over a 78-year-old woman using a crosswalk in April 2017.

Liebenow, 35, was sentenced to 60 days in the Berkshire County Jail and House
of Corrections, with the second half of the sentence suspended on Friday.
Liebenow was also placed on probation until July 31, 2020 and will lose his
driver’s license for 15 years, following the result of a jury trial.

Part of
Liebenow’s punishment, read to him by Judge Mark Pasquariello, requires him to
write and send a letter of apology to the family of Gillian Seidl, the
78-year-old who died at the scene.

On April 24, 2017, Seidl was walking on the designated crosswalk at 46 Main St. in Sheffield, toward the town’s library, when police say Liebenow’s grey pickup truck struck her.
