Rolling on the entrepreneurial road to success

Dr. Tracey Fahey opened up a new veterinary practice and took it on the road. Her business, Berkshire Barks & Purrs, Advanced Mobile VetCare, provides full-service care medicine within a 25-mile radius from Sheffield and is open seven days a week for emergencies.

SHEFFIELD — A Sheffield woman has literally set the wheels in motion with her first venture at owning her own business.

After nearly two decades of experience practicing veterinary medicine, most recently as the medical director of a Bristol, Connecticut practice that was owned and operated by one of the country’s largest corporations dedicated to veterinary care, Dr. Tracey Fahey decided it was time to open up a practice of her own. But instead of a stationary practice, she opted for one on wheels.

In working with Ohio-based manufacturer La Boit Specialty Vehicles Inc., Fahey customized and outfitted her new workspace, and launched her business, Berkshire Barks & Purrs, Advanced Mobile VetCare, in October of last year.
