Proposed cannabis growing site could be the final of six in Lee

LEE — A proposed marijuana cultivation and manufacturing facility could be the sixth and final of its kind in the town, pending approval from the necessary municipal boards.

Harsh Patel, manager of Green Theory Cultivation LLC, presented a proposal to construct a 12,000 square-foot “hybrid greenhouse structure” facility at 845 Pleasant St., to the Select Board at its Oct. 1 meeting.

Accompanied by James McMahon, an attorney and cannabis business consultant for the Boston-based McMahon Strategic Development firm, Patel stated that his mission is to grow sustainable cannabis.
A native of India, Patel grew up in Georgia, but visits the Berkshires during the summer.

“The idea behind this, is that this is a new industry on the rise,” said Patel in an interview with this newspaper. “With my attention to detail, I feel I can bring the highest quality of innovation and highest quality product to the consumer.”
