LEE — The
town’s first cannabis dispensary took the next steps to laying down roots and
growing their own product in a proposed 32,000 square-foot cultivation

A motion
to accept the site plan and send the special permit application to the Planning
Board was accepted by members of the Lee Select Board, but not before concerns
were heard from would-be neighboring business owners.

facility will support our current operating marijuana dispensary at 220 Housatonic Street,
as well as provide raw material and finished product for other dispensaries we
intend on opening,” said Erik Williams, chief operating officer of Canna
Provisions Inc.

Polasteri, a member of the Lee Sportsmen’s Association, which has a gun range
just north of the proposed cultivation site, addressed the board with concerns
about safety and noise.

concern is people from your property wandering onto our property,” Polasteri
said, directed at Williams.

Williams reassured Polasteri that the grow operation, which includes a 20,000 square-foot canopy with perimeter fencing, would be “one of the most secure sites in all of Lee.”
