SHEFFIELD — Persistence in trying to score and staying close to the opponent’s goal paid off for Lenox Memorial’s varsity girls’ soccer team in its Monday afternoon rematch with Mt. Everett in the form of a 1-0 triumph over the hometown Eagles.
The decision gave the Millionaires (8-6-2), who shut out Drury 1-0 on Oct. 22 in North Adams, their third straight victory. The Eagles, who fell 6-0 to Hoosac Valley in Cheshire on Oct. 22, started a three-game home stand that ended with Wednesday’s afternoon contest with Drury.
“Everett played a little better than last time,” said Lenox head coach Matt Cote in reference to the Millionaires 6-0 win over the Eagles on Sept. 22. “But we had about 26 or so shots on their goal today.”......for the full story pick up this week’s Berkshire Record at a newsstand or subscribe by calling 413-528-5380 ext. 29.
