Voters exercised their rights throughout Southern Berkshire County over the past week.

While the election didn’t shake up every single board in the county, the results of the annual ballot will introduce towns like Great Barrington, Sheffield, Monterey and Egremont to new planning and select boards.

With a platform of adding a fresh voice to the select board, former finance committee member Leigh Davis has ousted select board member Daniel Bailly, 767-556. Bailly has served two three-year terms.

“I’m excited for this opportunity to contribute to the community. It’s been very welcoming to my family and I look forward to giving back the place that I love that his given so much to us,” said Davis, who described herself as the underdog in the select board race.

Moving forward, she hopes to be able to help the town address economic development, growing its tax base and increase the availability of affordable housing among other thing.

Stephen Bannon retained his seat on the board with 815 votes.
