Four-alarm West Stockbridge fire ruled accidental

WEST STOCKBRIDGE — A volatile May 3 fire that destroyed a single-family Swamp Road home has been deemed accidental.

Firefighters responded to 18 Swamp Road in West Stockbridge on May 3 after the owner of the property phoned in a report of thick smoke at 10:30 p.m.
The property owner, which according to assessor’s records is Clay Hall, was not home when the fire first ignited.

Hall indicated that there were several guns and ammunition stored inside the home.
