STOCKBRIDGE — The former fire chief is suing the Town of Stockbridge and two select board members, both in official and individual capacities, in federal court.
Ernest J. “Chuckie” Cardillo, who is still serving as a member of the select board in Stockbridge, is alleging that board members Donald M. Chabon and Terrence R. Flynn and the Town violated First Amendment rights when they terminated Cardillo’s employment contract as fire chief of the Town of Stockbridge through the use of unequal standards, collusion and adverse political motivation. In the lawsuit, Cardillo is calling for an annulment of the select board’s decision, restoration of his fire chief position, back pay and attorney’s fees and costs.
The lawsuit also includes a $250,000,000 demand, according to court records.
