Former Greylock Mill in Lee will now produce marijuana

LEE — A California developer has purchased the former Greylock Mill and its new owner plans to use the facility to cultivate and manufacture marijuana.

Franz Chan, CEO and founder of Adelanto, California-based Golden Tree & Co. Technology Corp., presented his plans for the building at a select board meeting earlier this month.

Golden Tree is operating out of a cannabis-cultivation and manufacturing facility out of a 50,000 square-foot building. Operating under the name Zipbox Inc. in Massachusetts, Chan plans to do the same in the 160,000 square-foot former paper mill, which has been vacant since 2008.

“It will be triple the size of our location in California,” said Chan.
Roger Scheurer, a principal for Scheurer Consulting Engineers, has been named the on-site project manager for Zipbox.
