WEST STOCKBRIDGE — A fire destroyed a two-story colonial-style farmhouse from the 1900s on State Line Road.
Nearly 30 firefighters from West Stockbridge, Stockbridge and Richmond as well as Canaan, New York, responded to the blaze at the 3,336- square-foot home at 11:15 p.m. on Monday, June 10, said West Stockbridge Fire Chief Peter Skorput.
“A good third of the second floor was fully involved (with flames) and coming out the windows when we arrived on scene,” said Skorput. “It wasn’t worth the risk sending anyone inside.”
