EGREMONT — Nearly 20 people were on hand to express their opinions at the public hearing for the first proposed retail marijuana shop in the two villages.

Egremont residents Ari and Heidi Zorn discussed their plans for their business, Devine, located at 71 Main St., South Egremont, at the Egremont Zoning Board of Appeals meeting last Wednesday. The Zorns hope to be operational by June 2020, according to Heidi.

Among concerns raised by residents were parking, security, the environmental friendliness of their packaging and keeping the product out of the hands of children.
