PITTSFIELD — Andrea Harrington made history this week when she was sworn in as the first woman Berkshire Country District Attorney.
Last November, Harrington defeated incumbent district attorney, Paul Caccaviello, who was present at the inauguration. He previously served as former District Attorney David Capeless’ first assistant district attorney. Former associate justice of the state Supreme Court, Francis Spina, administered the oath of office to Harrington.
After being administered the oath of office and officially becoming the district attorney, Harrington addressed the
“We gather today, unified, in hope that by working together, we will build a future so every single person in our community from every walk of life, can enjoy peace, health, and safety here in the home that we love,” said Harrington in an address to standing-room only crowd.
