Harrington sworn in as Berkshire County District Attorney; will go down in Berkshire history as first woman in post

PITTSFIELD — Andrea Harrington made history this week when she was sworn in as the first woman Berkshire Country District Attorney.

Last November, Harrington defeated incumbent district attorney, Paul Caccaviello, who was present at the inauguration. He previously served as former District Attorney David Capeless’ first assistant district attorney. Former associate justice of the state Supreme Court, Francis Spina, administered the oath of office to Harrington.

After being administered the oath of office and officially becoming the district attorney, Harrington addressed the
