GREAT BARRINGTON — The Housing Authority has appointed an interim director after ousting former director Vera Cartier.
The new housing director, who has been hired on for three months, is Tina Danzy, who was Stockbridge’s runner-up in that town’s search for a housing authority director. “Miss Cartier’s last day was October 24 and we wish her the best,” said Karen Smith, the chairperson.
Cartier was ousted by the board by a 3-1 vote, with Jacqueline Sinico dissenting, when the agreement was made earlier in the month on Oct. 10 and then validated on Oct. 17. The reasons for Cartier’s departure are murky at best.
