The Town of New Marlborough, acting through the Board of Selectmen, will accept sealed bids from qualified contractors to provide a plow truck with operator for the removal of snow and ice from various Town roads for the 2018-19 winter plowing season. Bid packages will be available at the New Marlborough Town Hall starting Wednesday, 10/24/18, Mon.-Fri. from 9am-3pm; by emailing sfleck@newmarlboroughma.gov or by calling (413)229-8116. A Design Public Hearing will be held by MassDOT to discuss the proposed Bridge Replacement of Bridge T-10-007, carrying Monterey Road over Hop Brook in Tyringham, MA.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed bridge replacement project. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
PROPOSAL: The proposed project consists of a complete bridge replacement of the existing municipally owned, structurally deficient, two-lane bridge which consists of a single span of steel beams with a reinforced concrete deck. The existing bridge was constructed in 1939 and features a curb-to-curb width of 26 feet and a span of 26 feet. The proposed bridge will consist of pre-stressed reinforced concrete box girders with a composite reinforced concrete deck founded on integral abutments placed behind the existing abutments. Bicycle accommodations consisting of a usable shoulder have been provided in accordance with applicable design guides.
A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The town is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be discussed at this hearing.
Written views received by MassDOT subsequent to the date of this notice and up to five (5) days prior to the date of the hearing shall be displayed for public inspection and copying at the time and date listed above. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the hearing begins, with an engineer in attendance to answer questions regarding this project. A project handout will be made available on the MassDOT website listed below.
Written statements and other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, oral statements made at the Public Hearing regarding the proposed undertaking are to be submitted to Patricia A. The Sheffield Planning Board, as the Special Permit Granting Authority, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at 7:00 PM, 1st floor meeting room, Town Hall, Sheffield, to act on an application for an Amendment to the Special Permit granted to Park Avenue Solar Solutions on April 20, 2018, to clarify that the screening referenced in Condition #2 of the Special Permit refers to the “northwest” portion of the property and there be an explicit reference to the site plan dated as revised January 26, 2018 as the site plan approved and (b) clarification that the Special Permit also applies to single axis tilt tracking systems as well as fixed tilt, for property located on Clayton Road, Sheffield 01257, for a Large Scale Solar Photovoltaic Installation, per Section 7.4 of the Sheffield Zoning By-Laws. NOTICE OF PRELIMINARY CERTIFICATION OF VALUES
FY 2019 Assessed Values

The Town of Monterey in accordance with guidelines established by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, the Board of Assessors has Received Preliminary Certification for the Fiscal Year 2019 values for all properties within the Town. Values were calculated at Full and Fair Cash Value, based on calendar years 2016 and 2017 property sales. The purpose of Public Disclosure is to give the taxpayers an opportunity to review the proposed new value of their property prior to Final Certification by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. The new values will be available for review at the main office at Town Hall during normal business hours and the Assessor’s Office Monday thru Saturday 9:30 to Noon, Tuesday and Wednesday 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Values will be available online at www.montereyma.gov on the Assessor’s page.
Individual notices will be mailed out to all property owners.
All changes in assessment will be closed on November 10th.
