Elm Court developers approved for special permit extension

By Joel Williams

STOCKBRIDGE — Front Yard LLC, developers of the Elm Court project on 310 Old Stockbridge Road, are expecting to begin work within the year after being granted a second extension on their special permit from the town of Stockbridge.

The special permit, which was granted in September 2014, and extended in 2016, is soon set to expire because the developers have yet to break ground on the project. Attorney Nicholas Arienti, representing Front Yard LLC, appeared before the select board Monday night to make the request.

Developers are looking to begin work sooner rather than later, so as to avoid going through the same process with Lenox, which three acres of the property and the first 50 feet of frontage reside in, according to Arienti. That special permit was granted in July of 2015, close to a year after it was applied for.
