Grants Available to Benefit Seniors
Elder Services of Berkshire County, Inc. announces the availability of funds through Title III of the Older Americans Act, and requests proposals for Subgrants targeted to Berkshire County residents ages 60 and older to provide the following programs and services: Legal Assistance, Minor Home Repair, Heavy Chore, In-home Mental Health Assessment, In-home Skilled Nursing Visits not covered by Medicare, approved evidence-based Healthy Aging programs (request list), Medical Transportation, Caregiver Support, such as education and training, social day care, or respite care services. All grants are subject to availability of funding and typically range between $1,000 and $5,000 per fiscal year.
The Request for Proposal process is open to nonprofit organizations and private for- profit organizations and businesses. Subgrant proposals must support the goals of the Older Americans Act by providing direct services to Berkshire County residents age 60 and older with the greatest social and economic need, including low-income minority individuals.
Interested individuals and organizations, especially those that serve seniors, are encouraged to submit a Letter of Intent by June 4, 2018. Proposals may be submitted by a single organization, or be collaborative ventures. Proposals are for a one-year grant period, October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019, and may have the option to renew.
An informational meeting regarding the Request for Proposal process will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Elder Services, 877 South Street, Suite 4E in Pittsfield MA.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Mass Department of Conservation & Recreation (DCR), property at Beartown State Forest, Fountain Pond Park, and East Mountain State Forest. The proposed work consists of removal or treatment of non-native invasive plant species for resource area improvement. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Kelly Granger Parsons & Associates for Peter Schulte, property at 12 Cottage Street, Map 14 Lot 261. The proposed work consists of renovating an existing residence, constructing a new front sidewalk and asphalt driveway, installing a wooden fence and removing a shed, a gravel driveway and old sidewalks – ​​ which areas will revert to grass. All work will be within the inner 100 ft. riparian area of the Housatonic River. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Terrance Smith of the Mass Office of Fishing & Boating Access for the Town of Great Barrington; property at 13 Lake Mansfield Road, Map 10 Lot 43A. The proposed work consists of site improvements including storm water management and repairs to an existing cartop boat access facility at Lake Mansfield. All work will be within the 100 ft. buffer zone of the lake. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Stantec Consulting Services, Inc. for the Town of Great Barrington, the property consists of Bridge Street and Church Street in downtown Great Barrington. The project consists of improvements to existing public roadways including milling & overlay of road, replacement of existing curb and concrete sidewalk, installation of new concrete sidewalks, and replacement of existing bituminous concrete driveway aprons. The proposed work regulated by Wetlands Regulations consist of new sidewalks and an extended driveway apron. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Request for Determination of Applicability submitted by Clark & Green Architects for Jess Cooney, property located at #2 State Road, Map 14 Lot 8. The proposed work consists of repairing the foundation of an existing building by excavating around the exterior, repairing as needed and backfilling. Excavated areas will become garden beds or part of a new accessible path into the building. The existing asphalt parking area will be replaced with a compacted gravel parking area. This determination will be conducted in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

The Board of Selectmen, Town of Egremont, acting as the Local Licensing Authority, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Egremont Town Hall to act on the application of M.T. Bottles LLC, Manager Thomas Morrison and Daniel P. Thomas for an Annual All Alcoholic Package Store license at the premises located at 71 Main Street, South Egremont.
