Ramsdell Library to close for renovations during February

By Christopher McDermott
HOUSATONIC—The Ramsdell Public Library will be closed for half of February to allow for several of its wood floors to be sanded and refinished.

Starting Feb. 5, the library will close for two weeks so that its children’s room, adult reading room and its art room will have work done on their floors, according to Great Barrington library director Amanda DeGiorgis. The library will reopen at 1 p.m. on Feb. 20.

Town Manager Jennifer Tabakin touched upon the project in her report to the selectboard on Monday: “This is long overdue, and the floors, obviously, need to not be walked on for that time.”
