CITATION GIVING NOTICE OF PETITION FOR APPOINTMENT OF GUARDIAN FOR INCAPACITATED PERSON PURSUANT TO G.L.c. 190B, §5-304

To the named Respondent and all other interested persons, a petition has been filed by Berkshire Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center of Sandisfield in the above captioned matter alleging that Bobbie Freshour is in need of a Guardian and requesting that some suitable person be appointed as Guardian and to serve without Surety on the bond.

The petition asks the court to determine that the Respondent is incapacitated, that the appointment of a Guardian is necessary, and that the proposed Guardian is appropriate. The petition is on file with this court and may contain a request for certain specific authority.

You have the right to object to this proceeding. If you wish to do so, you or your attorney must file a written appearance at this court on or before 10:00 a.m. on the return date of 11/07/17. This day is not a hearing date, but a deadline by which you have to file the written appearance if you object to the petition. If you fail to file the written appearance by the return date, action may be taken in this matter without further notice to you. In addition to filing the written appearance, you or your attorney must file a written affidavit stating the specific facts and grounds of your objection within 30 days after the return date.

A status conference has been scheduled for November 15, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. and trial has been scheduled for November 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at 44 Bank Row, Pittsfield, MA 01201, to be attended by the respondent, his counsel, the petitioners and other interested persons who file appearances herein.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

The outcome of this proceeding may limit or completely take away the above-named person’s right to make decisions about personal affairs or financial affairs or both. The above-named person has the right to ask for a lawyer. Anyone may make this request on behalf of the above-named person. If the above-named person cannot afford a lawyer, one may be appointed at State expense.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION

The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Native Habitat Restoration LLC for Jeffrey Cohen of the Beth B. Sackler Trust, property at 47, 55 & 59 Hurlburt Road, Map 31 Lots 29A, 29B & 29C. The proposed Ecological Restoration Limited Project includes the restoration of approximately 3.3 acres of mixed hardwood forests to native vegetation; the restoration of approximately 3.4 acres of wetland to native vegetation and early successional conditions and restoring approximately 3.3 acres of wetland fields to native vegetation and early successional conditions. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Request for Determination of Applicability from Eugene Atwood, property at 241 Long Pond Road, Map 33 Lot 14-C. Proposed work includes construction of a new residence including extension of the existing driveway and construction of a new septic system. This public meeting will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION

The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Foresight Land Services for Kirt Mayland of Rising Paper Land LLC, property on the east side of the Housatonic River on the north side of Division Street, Map 7 Lot 30. The proposed work includes development of a six space parking lot to serve as parking area for a new Kayak/Canoe Launch site and as parking and trail head for a future walking path, to be proposed and permitted separately, running northward along the east shore of the river. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

Pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 1341 M.G.L. c. 21 S 43, notice is given of a 401 Water Quality Certification application for the replacement of the Route 7A (Ashley Falls RD) over the Housatonic River, bridge #S-10-039, in the City of Sheffield, MA by the MassDOT Division of Highways, Ten Park Plaza, Room 4260, Boston, MA 02116. This project will involve the demolition of the existing bridge and the construction of a new bridge on a similar alignment. Additional information may be obtained from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highway Division at the above address, Attention Timothy Dexter, (857) 368-8794. Written comments should be sent to MassDEP, Southeast Region Main Office, Attention Christopher Ross, 20 Riverside Drive, Lakeville, MA 02347 within 21 days of this notice. Any group of ten persons, any aggrieved person, or any governmental body or private organization with a mandate to protect the environment who submits written comments may appeal the Department’s Certification. Failure to submit written comments before the end of the public comment period may result in the waiver of any right to an adjudicatory hearing.

The Town of Alford MA Municipal Lighting Plant (MLP) is soliciting quotations for a modular pre-cast concrete broadband network shelter. This bid request will be open for a period of two weeks. Bids must be submitted by 2:00 PM on Thursday November 2nd, 2017. Bid specifications and other pertinent information may be requested by contacting jhall@townofalford.org via e-mail. The Alford MA MLP board will review and approve the contract and reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

NOTICE OF PLANNING BOARD HEARING

Relative to Proposed

Changes to Sign Zoning By-Law Amendments

Pursuant to M.G.L. Ch 40A, Sect. 5

The Planning Board of the Town of Otis, Massachusetts will hold a public hearing to discuss proposed amendments to the town’s Sign zoning by-law, Section 5.2. The Public Hearing will be as follows:

The subject matter of the proposed amendments are modifications and additions to the existing town bylaws for Signs.
