Great Barrington Select Board negotiates Housatonic School deal

GREAT BARRINGTON – The selectmen have authorized Town Manager Jennifer Tabakin to draft working parameters for a public-private partnership with Grayhouse Partners in regards to the Housatonic School.

The decision to move tentatively forward with Grayhouse Partners and its respective working teams – Gillette Conner for finance; Clark & Green and Steven McAllister for architecture; and Provident Economic Technologies’ Gregory Fitch for engineering – was unanimous following a public hearing Oct. 16.

“It’s probably the best thing we can do right now…” Selectman Stephen Bannon said. “This is probably our best option.”

“I feel comfortable saying let’s look at this,” Select Board Chairman Sean Stanton said, agreeing with Bannon.
