GREAT BARRINGTON — Plans for the restoration of the historic church once attended by civil rights leader W.E.B. Du Bois are starting to take shape.
Members of the community, the Clinton Church Restoration group, stakeholders and experts came together with architects and designers to craft three possible plans for the Clinton A.M.E. Zion Church.
The collective group met for days ahead of an Oct. 6 presentation – held within the walls of the First Congregational Church – to hash out the specific types of programming they envision someday taking place within the historic church.
The proposed programming acted as a guide for the designers, who worked to draw plans that would best suit the group’s vision.
