REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Housatonic School RFP Addendum #1

The Town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, through its Town Manager, has issued an Addendum to its Request for Proposals for the Disposition of Real Property known as Housatonic School located at 207 Pleasant Street, (Housatonic) Great Barrington, Massachusetts, originally issued May 10, 2017.

This Addendum (#1) to the RFP extends the deadline date, and provides a list of questions about the RFP and the Town’s answers thereto. It also provides an additional optional site visit date for the convenience of potential respondents.

The Addendum will be transmitted to all RFP holders. Other interested parties may obtain the original RFP and this Addendum. These documents may be obtained in person or by written request from the office of the Town Manager, Town Hall, 334 Main Street, Great Barrington, Massachusetts, 01230, or emailing apulver@townofgb.org Monday thru Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning May 10, 2017.

Completed sealed proposals must be received at the Town Manager’s Office on or before Friday, August 25, 2017 by 2:00 p.m.

The Town of Great Barrington reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to cancel this request for proposal at any time, if it is in the best interest of the Town to do so. The Town also reserves the right to waive any informality in the bidding and make an award deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Great Barrington. REVISED REGULATIONS FOR MCALLISTER WILDLIFE REFUGE

At its regularly scheduled meeting on July 26, 2017, the Great Barrington Conservation Commission reviewed and approved important changes to its regulations regarding the recreational use of the McAllister Wildlife Refuge on Haley Road. Copies of the new regulations are available on the Conservation Commission web page at the Town website

(www.townofgb.org) or at the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday thru Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

TOWN OF GREAT BARRINGTON

INVITATION FOR BID

The Town of Great Barrington, acting through its Chief Procurement Officer and in conjunction with the Department of Public Works, invites sealed bids from contractors for the FY 2018 Great Barrington Roadway Improvements.

A Bid Proposal Package for this project which contains detailed specifications, bid forms and other pertinent information may be obtained from the Department of Public Works Office in the Town Hall, 334 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA during the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, or by emailing svandeusen@townofgb.org beginning Wednesday August 2, 2017. Only those contractors who have been qualified and approved by the MassDOT will be allowed to receive Bid Proposal Packages.

Sealed Bids are due at the Office of the Town Manager by 3:00PM on Friday August 18th at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals must be sealed and clearly marked “FY18 Roadway Improvements”. The Town Manager is the awarding authority and reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor informalities or irregularities in any bid, to make an award in any manner consistent with the law and deemed to be in the best interests of the Town of Great Barrington.

All bidding is subject to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M and Chapter 149, Sections 44A-J inclusive. Wages are subject to prevailing wage requirements of M.G.L. Chapter 149, Sections 26-27H inclusive.

All bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount which is not less than five percent (5%) of the bid amount in the form of a bid bond or cash, certified check, treasurer’s check or cashier’s check issued by a responsible bank or trust company payable to the Town of Great Barrington.

A one hundred percent (100%) Construction Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to the Town as a condition for the award of contract.

Bids may not be withdrawn within 30 consecutive days after the bid opening.

In accordance with the requirements of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 40A and the Sandisfield Zoning Bylaws, the Sandisfield Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall Annex, 66 Sandisfield Rd., Sandisfield, MA, on the application of Kevin J. The Sheffield Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., 1st floor meeting room, Town Hall, 21 Depot Square, regarding a Request for Determination of Applicability, filed by the Town of Sheffield for property on 160 Frederic Lane, Sheffield, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 131, sec. 40. The purpose of the hearing is to gather information regarding the proposed project: work will be in a small 0.45 acre area managing woody invasive species.

The intention of the applicant will be discussed in compliance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act.

Notice of Public Hearing

The Sheffield Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., 1st floor meeting room, Town Hall, 21 Depot Square, regarding a Request for Determination of Applicability, filed by the Housatonic Valley Association for property on Covered Bridge Lane, Sheffield, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 131, sec. 40. The purpose of the hearing is to gather information regarding the proposed project: install a 6-foot bench that will be anchored with buried plastic wood landscaping timber.

The intention of the applicant will be discussed in compliance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act.
