The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Foresight Land Services for the Town of Great Barrington, property at Fairview Terrace, Map 12 Lot Town Right of Way. The proposed work includes drainage maintenance and related work along the edge of the roadway. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III.

GREAT BARRINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION
The Great Barrington Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 6:30 PM at the Great Barrington Town Hall, 334 Main Street, to act on a Notice of Intent submitted by Michael Kulig of Berkshire Engineering, Inc. on behalf of Camp Institute of Living Judaism, property at 52 Brookside Road, Map 38 Lot 11. Pursuant to findings of the most recent Dam Safety inspection at Eisner Pond required by MassDCR, the proposed work will include: tree removal, retaining wall removal and repair, grading, slope stabilization, repairs to the dam outlet, repair or replacement of the low level outlet structure, clearing accumulated sediment from the inlet structure and repair or replacement of the inlet valve, construction of a gravel access road from the bank of Eisner Pond to the area of the outlet structure and removal of less than 100 cu. yd. of sediment accumulated in the outlet works. This public hearing will be held in accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Chapter 131, Section 40 and the Great Barrington Wetlands Bylaw and Regulations, Chapter 168 and Chapter 217 Article III. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
The Town of Great Barrington, Massachusetts (the “Town”) is seeking proposals from entities to enter into a sublease of the building at 20 Castle Street in downtown Great Barrington. The Town is interested in proposals for subletting the first floor garage space, the second floor office space, or partial rental of either floor. The terms of the lease are flexible up to three years.
A document setting forth specifications for proposals may be obtained in person or by written request from the office of the Town Manager, Town Hall, 334 Main Street, Great Barrington, Massachusetts, 01230, or emailing apulver@townofgb.org Monday thru Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. beginning May 26, 2017.
Completed sealed proposals must be received at the Town Manager’s Office on or before Friday, June 16, 2017 by 2:00 p.m. at which time they will be publicly opened.
The Town of Great Barrington reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to cancel this request for proposal at any time, if it is in the best interest of the Town to do so. The Town also reserves the right to waive any informality in the bidding and make an award deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Great Barrington.

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING

A Design Public Hearing will be held by MassDOT to discuss the proposed Bridge Replacement Project on State Route 7A (Ashley Falls Road) over the Housatonic River in the Town of Sheffield, MA.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed ST 7A (Ashley Falls Road) over Housatonic River bridge replacement project. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
PROPOSAL: The proposed bridge project consists of the replacement of the existing single span steel bridge truss structure. The proposed new 125-foot Single Span Metalized Steel Plate Girder superstructure will be supported on stub abutments founded on drilled micropiles. The proposed bridge will have a 26-foot curb to curb roadway width for vehicular traffic with two ​​ 2-foot wide shoulders. There will be a single 5.5-foot wide sidewalk on the easterly side of the bridge. The bridge is currently closed and will continue to be closed during construction. The detour will remain as it is today and is approximately 3 miles in length. The detour for the northbound approach will send traffic east along West Stahl Road, north along Route 7, and back to Ashley Falls Road. Detour for the southbound approach will send traffic south along Route 7, west along West Stahl Road, and back to Ashley Falls Road. Proposed approach roadway work includes micromilling with resurfacing and full depth reconstruction for approximately 400 feet of southbound approach and approximately 600 feet of northbound approach. This includes minor intersection modifications at the West Stahl Road and ST 7A (Ashley Falls Road) intersection. The proposed approach roadway has a curb-to-curb width of 26’ ​​0”from West Stahl Road to the northern project limits. Sidewalk along the east side of the road begins just on the south side of the intersection with West Stahl Road and ends at a wheelchair ramp about 50’ north of the proposed bridge.
A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The Town of Sheffield is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be discussed at this hearing.
Written views received by MassDOT subsequent to the date of this notice and up to five (5) days prior to the date of the hearing shall be displayed for public inspection and copying at the time and date listed above. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the hearing begins, with an engineer in attendance to answer questions regarding this project. A project handout will be made available on the MassDOT website listed below.
Written statements and other exhibits in place of, or in addition to, oral statements made at the Public Hearing regarding the proposed undertaking are to be submitted to Patricia A. Town of Sheffield
Notice of Public Hearing
The Sheffield Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., 1st floor meeting room, Town Hall, 21 Depot Square, regarding a Request for Determination of Applicability, filed by Bill Hilton for property on 403 South Undermountain Road, Sheffield, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 131, sec. 40. The purpose of the hearing is to gather information regarding the proposed project: Invasive species removal along the western margin of landscape and into adjacent woodland, native woody shrubs and perennial wildflowers to be installed in woodland edge and swale area. Plantings will be installed on the edges of the pond and a rain garden is proposed at the foot of the swale.
The intention of the applicant will be discussed in compliance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act.
